Does Y&A Legal offer a free initial consultation?

Yes. We offer a free initial consultation by WhatsApp, phone, or video call. The initial conversation helps you understand whether your matter falls within our practice areas, what the likely next steps would involve, and whether Y&A Legal is a good fit for your situation. For matters requiring detailed document review or extended written advice, we will outline what a proper engagement would involve and any associated fees, before you commit to anything.

How do I get started with Y&A Legal?

The easiest way to get started is to send us a WhatsApp message at +91 97178 21010 with a brief description of your matter, what the issue is, what you need help with, and any documents that are relevant. We typically respond within a few hours during working hours. You can also use the contact form on our Contact page or email us at contact@yalegal.in. An advocate will review your message and follow up with next steps.

Which courts does Y&A Legal appear in?

Y&A Legal appears before the Delhi district courts (civil and criminal), Delhi Family Courts, the Delhi High Court, and relevant tribunals and quasi-judicial bodies depending on the matter. For arbitration, we represent clients before various arbitral tribunals and institutional bodies (ICC, LCIA, SIAC, MCIA). For Supreme Court matters, we coordinate with appropriate senior counsel and manage preparation and briefing. For matters in other state courts or High Courts, we advise and, where needed, coordinate with local counsel in the relevant jurisdiction.

Does Y&A Legal handle matters outside Delhi?

Yes. For corporate, startup, data protection (DPDP), POSH compliance, arbitration, and document-based services (contracts, legal notices), we advise clients and businesses across India, these services can be delivered fully remotely. For litigation requiring court appearances, we primarily cover Delhi courts. Legal notice drafting and despatch is a nationwide service, we can send notices to any address in India. NRI clients with property, succession, or legal matters in Delhi are a regular part of our practice; we handle court appearances and filings on their behalf.

What are your fees like?

Fees at Y&A Legal vary by matter type and complexity. For defined advisory projects, company incorporation, contract review, DPDP compliance, legal notice drafting, we typically offer a fixed fee quoted after understanding the scope. For businesses that need ongoing legal support, we offer monthly retainer arrangements. For litigation and arbitration, fees typically combine an engagement fee with appearance fees depending on the stage of the matter. We are transparent about fees before you commit: you will receive a clear indication during or after the initial consultation, and there are no surprises.

How quickly can Y&A Legal respond to an urgent matter?

WhatsApp is the fastest channel for urgent matters, arrests, anticipatory bail, imminent court deadlines, or cheque bounce notices with a closing 15-day window. We monitor our WhatsApp line actively during working hours (Monday–Saturday, 10AM–6PM) and aim to respond to urgent messages promptly. If your matter has a same-day or next-day court deadline, please state the urgency clearly in your first message so we can prioritise accordingly.

Can Y&A Legal handle both corporate work and litigation for the same client?

Yes. Many of our clients have matters that span more than one practice area, a startup may need company incorporation alongside contract drafting and an arbitration clause; a property client may need title verification alongside advice on a tenancy dispute; a business might have DPDP compliance needs alongside a commercial contract dispute. Our team works across corporate, compliance, and litigation, so clients receive coordinated advice across all aspects of their matter rather than managing multiple firms.

Are consultations available by phone or video call?

Yes. We regularly conduct consultations by WhatsApp call, phone, and video call (Zoom or Google Meet), particularly for clients based outside Delhi, NRI clients, or those who prefer not to travel for an initial meeting. For matters involving complex documents (contracts, property title chains, court orders), we ask clients to share the relevant documents before the call so we can review them in advance and make the consultation as useful as possible.

Do you work with NRI clients?

Yes. Y&A Legal regularly advises NRI clients on property matters in Delhi (title verification, disputes, sale transactions), succession and inheritance proceedings, FEMA and foreign investment compliance, and company or startup matters involving foreign shareholders. All consultations can be conducted remotely, and we handle court appearances, filings, and regulatory submissions in India on the client’s behalf. We accommodate different time zones and typically schedule calls at a time that works for the client’s location.

What if I am not sure which service or practice area I need?

That is a common situation, legal matters often cross multiple areas, and it is not always obvious which service applies. The best approach is to contact us with a description of your situation and what you are trying to achieve. We will assess it, advise on which practice area is relevant, and explain what the next steps look like. There is no obligation to proceed after the initial conversation, and we will not direct you to a service you do not need.
